- Kundalini Yoga is a multi sensory technology; it combines physical, mental, and spiritual practices. In practice when all these tools are combined the outcome of clearing blockages in the body, increasing blood circulation, sharpening the glandular and nervous system, and reaching ecstasy of consciousness is achieved quickly and effectively. Most other systems or technologies of yoga focuses on one technological angle, which makes the process of achieving consciousness more time consuming.

ORIGINS
Kundalini Yoga is within the tradition of Raj (royal) yoga and is one of the three original forms of yoga - Tantra, Laya, Kundalini (Hatha was a physical form which divercified later). It is practice combining breath work, asana (physical postures), kriya - physical siquance, and meditation.
METHOD
Prana, or life force, is generated through breath work and movement. When mixed with Apana, the eliminating force, friction is generated. Kundalini Yoga mixes prana with apana and the energy of Kundalini is called up. Kundalini energy passes up through the central nerve, or Sushumana, and reaches the higher chakras or lotuses. Through breath work, movement, and applying pressure (the bandhas or locks) Kundalini energy rises through the Chakras to the crown – the result is clarity of self, of perception that expand our awareness and connects us to the whole.
THE NAME
In the west the name Kundalini was associated with the myth of the serpent and connection of using sexual energy. The name Kundalini means the coil of the hair of the beloved suggests a connection to astral awarness. At times it is known as the yoga of awarness.
